Worst Driver Award

A relative of mine -- no names here, please -- has a reputation in the family as the worst driver... not just amongst us, but we believe she is quite possibly the worst driver in the history of drivers, not counting those idiots who drive impaired. The insurance guy must cringe when her number shows up on his Caller ID.

She's had countless little fender-benders -- just a tap on the car in front of her at a light, scraped the side of a car in the double wide driveway of our childhood home on a number of occasions, hit the car of the mayor of the next town over, and the best one of all? She plowed into a police car. Not just any police car -- this one was pulled over to the side of the road, lights flashing and siren blasting. She swears she didn't see it.

Genetic link... gives me shivers.

Getting My Ducks in a Row

Before I go any further, I've got to get the blog recognized by technorati. So, here goes:

Technorati Profile

Be Afraid -- Be VERY Afraid...

When they were younger, my kids used to joke that the 2 scariest words in the English language were, "genetic link." We all chuckled, but time has proven the truth of those words. Families can be great, but be honest, yours is nuts, right? Full-out, put 'em away, straight jacket crazy?

Well, mine is.

And we are considered, by most standards, to be perfectly normal. Yeah, scary. I say that they only truly normal people are those that we don't know very well. Look closer and sure enough, the weirdness becomes obvious.

In this blog, I'm gonna look closer. At my family and the families of other people. So be afraid. "Normal" has no place here.
